And Who's House is This?

My dad's friend from the Philippines stayed at my house last year because her sons wanted to find a better job in America then they can get in the Philippines. At first I didn't mind because I'm sure they would do the same thing for us if we visit the Philippines. But just because you stay in our house for a month doesn't mean it's actually your house. A few weeks ago, they came back and stayed in my house again. The last time they were here, her sons weren't successful at finding a job and ran out of time. Their temporary visa expired and they were sent back to the Philippines. So the woman, one of her sons, and a friend from California came to stay at my house for a couple of days. The moment Vickie stepped in my house, she pretty much felt at home. She was going through our cabinets and made herself coffee. She was making herself food and left a lot of mess for us to clean up. One day, my cousin came over real quick to drop something off and she offered him hopia that my mom made and always gave away every Christmas. The way she offered it appeared as if she was the one who made them. After three days, I think my mom got so irritated that my dad took them to our other house to stay at.

I think the icing on the cake was when Vickie's friend Evelyn thought she could do the same thing and act as if she lived in our house. We just met the woman a few weeks ago when Vickie came back to Las Vegas. A couple of days ago, Evelyn and Vickie came over and were talking downstairs with my mom while my mom was making dinner. When all of a sudden Evelyn gets up and goes upstairs without asking my mom. My mom didn't even know she was going upstairs until Vickie asked where she was going. Evelyn's response. 'I'm going upstairs to use the internet. I want to check my tickets online.' My mom was shocked to hear this woman whom we barely even know is going upstairs without asking permission. My mom wanted to slap her. But my mother is a classy woman and would never do such a thing but I can't say the same thing for myself. When I heard she didn't even ask my mom if she could come upstairs made me furious. Who does that? These people need to learn some respect for other people's homes.
